Jungle Flycatcher, Bot. Garden Hanoi
Short evening visit to the Botanical Garden, packed with people so I went to that corner, lots of mozzies and one new bird for me, a Brown-chested Jungle Flycatcher. Florian
Mosquitoes attract flycatchers which attract crazy birders. that`s normal mozzies take a small blood commission for the service ! We are in Vietnam, nothing`s free here :^)
Your sigthing is incredible, amazing. Did this species has already been observed in Vietnam ?
Hi Sebastian, Robson 2008 has it has scarce passage migrant in East Tonkin, so has been seen here... I am certainly not perfect in my ID skills, but I had really close-up views of this one, so I am pretty sure (large bill, yellow mandible, brownish breast and chests etc...). It did flip the tail a lot like on this pic: http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?p=2&Bird_ID=2666&Bird_Family_ID=&pagesize=1
congrats Florian !
ReplyDeleteThe magical corner still working !
Cheers,
Sebastien
