Hi all,
An interesting bird was found today - unfortunately not very much alive.
A first year (probably female) Blue-rumped Pitta. The bird was found near a mesh wire fence with which it probably collided.
Much fitter looked a nice male Siberian Rubythroat and a couple of Pale-footed Bush Warblers.
Cheers,
Falk
This is a really interesting record Falk, considering that Blue-naped Pitta occurs down to very low elevations in parts of its range, it is a surprise to find Blue-rumped Pitta at the same site - offhand I cannot think of any sites where both species occur.

Another one (this time alive!) has been seen, pretty much same spot. Wondering what's going on here?!

The species occurs up to 1,700 m in Indochina. So these records, whilst interesting are not beyond the species' known altitude range.
