A short stroll along the sandy/muddy channel between the Red River Island and the town produced some waders, but less than expect : some Green and Common Sandpipers, 2 first winter Black-winged Stilts (a patch tick), 6-7 Little Ringed Plovers + 1 Cinnamon Bittern, many White Wagtails (but not a single Citrine or Yellow W.).
Sebastien
Hi all,
ReplyDeleteI have to confirm Sebastien's impression. Not huge amounts of birds but there's a lot of mist-netting going on near the river.
Waders mentioned above are all still there.
One Siberian Stonechat, an Oriental Honey Buzzard, a couple of White-breasted Waterhen (they still exist in the wild!) and one Acrocephalus sp. disappearing too soon.
Botanical Gardens rather boring (Y-browed Warblers, 1 Grey-headed Canary Flycatcher) but lots of people.
