Mandarin and Tufted Ducks at Ba Be
Hi all!
If any of you want to see the rare ducks, please come up to Ba Be lake. There are six Mandarin and 1 Tufted Ducks around. I have also seen 1 Water Rail at Van Long NR.
Wow, awesome records! Is it with your tour? The guys must be like, Tufted duck, yawn, how exciting... But the Mandarins are definitely a highlight! Great work! Falk P.S. Hung, has any of your tour participants or you pictures of the female harrier from a few days ago? I'd love to send it to someone who knows a bit more about Hen harrier ID.
Hi Hung, I'm coming out to Hanoi (Jasmine Hotel in Lo Su) from April 3-20, with a few days on Fansipan, a couple of days at Tam Dao, and five nights in the Ba Be area checking on the White-eared Night Herons I found during my BirdLife survey in 2008. I would be interested to know about where I might see the Mandarins? Best wishes David Walsh davidfwalsh@hotmail.co.uk
