I finally managed to get half decent shots of this guy. It is still hanging around, 2 days after the first contact. Let's hope it will stay around for a while, like many other winterers here !
Simon (Mahood) confirmed me that it is the first record for Vietnam.
Congratulation! Greet news!
ReplyDeleteI will be in Hanoi from 7 - 11 Feb and plan to visit the Botanical Garden, if you are going back to the garden during that time, pls drop me a mail to: thanh_ha77@hotmail.com, I would love to join.
ReplyDeleteThanks

Ok Hà, I never met a vietnamese woman birder; you will be a 'tick' for me :)
DeleteReally another first then! Unbelievable, how many firsts did you already find then Sebastien?
ReplyDeleteThanks also for bringing better pictures!
Florian
Yes Florian, unbelievable to see such goodies in the middle of the city!
DeleteCongratulations on this record!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly there was a record of a well out-of-range Slaty-backed Flycatcher in Bangkok earlier this month. Here it Thailand it is really only recorded in the norther mountains, some 800km to the north of Bangkok.
Best wishes
Dave Gandy
