Botanical Garden

I met with Wayne this morning to sort out our Fanispan trip this weekend (anyone want to join?) and look at some birds.
Lots of Phyllos around, I was never good with these, and addtionally a bit out of practice, but these ones I thought to have IDed:
Yellow-browed Warbler
Pale-legged W.
Eastern-crowned W.
Two-barred W.

A glimpse of a Taiga Fly and a female flycatcher with plain back and orange breast near the toilets, which I think was a f. Hill Blue, but Wayne may paste photos later and you can look yourself.

Also a Burmese Shrike.

EDIT: Here are some images from this morning. Firstly the female flycatcher (Hill Blue???). Would love a confirmation. Wayne

And is this a Pale legged leaf warbler???

Photoshots from my window in Dalat

During my stay in Dalat this "winter" I have had several bird species in the garden in the middle of Dalat, and I have been able to get some nice shots from my window. Here are some of them: Blue Rock Thrush (philippensis-race), Taiga Flycatcher, Red-whiskered Bulbul, Black Bulbul and Black-headed Sibia (I was quite surprised to see this species in the middle of town).

White-tailed Robin in the city

Hi all,

Productive afternoon (Sunday 5th December) in the Botanical Garden, with some different migrants/winter visitors showing up.
The best being 1 impressive bullnecked White-tailed Robin male, 1 Grey-backed Thrush male 1st winter, 1 Taiga Flycatcher, 1 Orange-flanked Bush Robin female.

The Orange-flanked Bush Robin, with a big tumor on the head.

Please use settings 480p for best quality.

Have a look here : http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDELONGLEE (other videos of this funny Robin)

Lenin Park, Hanoi

Hi all,

Mid-day stroll in the toilet area of the Lenin Park.
I have finally catched a glimpse of our current star, the Brown-chested Jungle Flycatcher. Probably the one seen by Falk and Simon 2 days ago (I can not imagine it's a new one, but why not). It was perched ABOVE the toilets - with stunning views of mozzies armada below -, motionless and remained like this a rather long time, until I decided to approach it.

Its relative apathy contrasted with the big activity of some other birds around : 1 Dark-sided Fly, 1 Asian-brown Fly, 1 Asian Paradise Fly, 1 Taiga Fly, 1 Seicercus Warbler (Grey-crowned/Bianchi's ?, still no wing-bar...), 1 probable Eastern crowned Warbler + some other Phyllos non ID.
